Work Description
I was lucky because I had a piece of cobalt blue fabric in my stash but was it enough. The advantage of added seam allowances is that you can see easily if you’ve enough fabric. Luckily the piece is enough if only I made changes for the lining. I drafted facings for the neckline, front body, hem and sleeve hems. This also meant that I had to alter the lining pattern pieces as well. Anyone with some experience can make this Dotty Jacket is you’re willing to follow the instructions step by step. Sewing the lining and the jacket together is also shown step by step instructions with colourful photos. Last step is turning the jacket inside out and closing the opening with a slip stitch. The fit of the sleeve is perfect due to the construction. I used a heavy weighted wool fabric so I understitched the facings to prevent them facing from rolling toward the outside. So happy with this new Chanel style jacket. The jacket has a beautiful fit The way the sleeves are constructed makes it very special and also gives you enough space to wear at the office.
