Black Pink Dream
Work Description
I love this dress! I think I say that about every new thing I make but with this I really mean it. It was one of those projects that proved frustrating at times but deeply rewarding in the end. With hindsight, this is a really easy sew except for one or two tricky bits. The fabric for this project is a nice firm 100% cotton that I picked up at my local market stall for €1.50 a meter. This dress is so flattering for the figure, I really love the waistband feature on this. I also really like the use of French seams on this pattern. It’s a really lovely design element. I’m not a big fan of the look of the patch pockets so I went for the inseam pocket instead which during the making process I began to regret a little just because I found it sooo difficult ( I legit don’t know why) to figure out. I think it was just my brain taking a break. The most difficult element on this pattern I think was the is the attachment of the front and back bodices at the "shoulder" seam. This part requires a lot of patience and for me, a lot of unpicking in order to prevent puckering. Anywho, after topstitching for what felt like miles of fabric, the final product just blissfully! I will definitely be making this again. I would really wanna make this in a mini version as well as just the bodice as a top cause I’ve seen a few on Instagram and I have no self-control.
