Studio Calicot Alpine Sweater
Work Description
I made my sweater of a textured stretch off-white fabric. The pattern has added seam allowances that are 1 centimeter. I prefer plain seams. Especially when it concerns thicker fabrics like in this case. The seam allowances of side -, sleeve – and shoulder seams have been extended to 1.5 centimeters. I also made the both body pattern longer because this pattern is designed for 1m63 height. (Note: read always the instructions to find out for with height a pattern is designed) Based on finished garment measurements my version I used size M. Stitching this sweater is fairly easy. Notching points for the pleats are marked on the front – and back body. I did cut the sleeve cuffs a bit tighter than the pattern. By doing so the cuff sits better on my wrist and the sleeves get a 'puffed' look. By stretching the sleeve cuffs slightly pleats were prevented. I’m very pleased with this new sweater. The Alpine sweater looks great in combination with the Farra pants. Size and length also have a good balance.
