Mary Wimberley’s Woody Raccoon Woody Raccoon is intended as a collectible for adults rather than a toy for children. Advanced Sewing experience required. This 9 page pattern for Woody Raccoon is an original pattern for an 10.5” (26 cm) movement raccoon (my movement animals have a double jointed neck, wired limbs and are constructed to stand upright, stand on all fours, sit and other expressive poses.) The pattern is made for 8.5” x 11” paper and folded to fit into a plastic zip lock bag for your convenience. You will find never techniques for creating eyelids, whiskers and my needle sculpting and faux airbrush techniques. The pattern includes a complete list of materials as well as a montage of photos for reference. There are four full pages of clearly marked pattern pieces with detailed instructions for cutting, trimming, marking, sewing the fur. The pattern pieces include dots for cotter pin or bolt insertion, openings for turning, seam allowance, nap arrows, eye placement and nose insertion dots and more. This pattern also is easy to resize because I include the stitch line and also outlines of the discs so as you shrink or enlarge the pattern you can see where to stitch and what size discs to use.
Additionally there are two pages of instructions for finishing Woody including my ear positioning, my unique false head back for seamless eye insertion and my needle sculpting techniques and more! This raccoon can be made up in mohair, alpaca or synthetics. Please note the fur lengths I recommend for best results. If you want to sell your raccoon, that is fine as long as you give me credit as the pattern maker. For example, I am offering Rocky Raccoon, made from Mary Wimberley’s (of Mary’s Secret Garden) Raccoon pattern. Please do not sell or share the pattern itself. Enjoy! Thanks so much for your support! Let me know if there are other animal patterns you would be interested in purchasing. Much love for Mary of the Secret Garden PS. See the article about me in the April/May 2018 to read more about me!
