While making and selling hundreds of mittens each winter, the question I get asked the most is "Can you teach me how to make these?!". Finally - the answer is YES! I have tried many different techniques to make sweater mittens, always tweaking my own pattern along the way for the absolute best fit. I am happy to be able to teach others how to make them. They are perfect to give as gifts (consider your Christmas shopping done!), to let a friend know you are thinking of them or to find a new purpose for a special sweater that belonged to a loved one. But beware - once you make a pair, you may have a hard time parting with them.
This 18 page tutorial includes a step by step guide with 20+ photos, showing you every step from start to finish. Included is information on finding your sweaters, preparing the materials, supplies needed, templates as well as tips on tracing, sewing and finishing the mittens.
