The MakeristAR app is currently only available for iPhone users in the Apple App Store. We are currently in the test phase and we'd love for you to be one of the first in our community try out this revolutionary app and let us know your thoughts! There may be some little bugs and glitches - please bear with us while we perfect the app! In the meantime you can discover a range of Makerist free AR patterns directly in the app.

What is MakeristAR?

• MakeristAR is an augmented reality app that uses your iPhone to transfer pattern pieces onto your fabric
• No paper, no printing, no sticking together - you can start sewing right away
• In order for the app to correctly display your pattern, you just need a reference image; our “anchor” - which you can download here for free

Step 1: Download the app from the App Store

After you've installed the app on your iPhone, you'll be asked for your email address. Please make sure that you use the same e-mail address for your Makerist account, as the app and your Makerist account are linked.

Step 2: Log In To The App

We'll send you an individual Magic Link to your email account that you can use to log in, no password needed.

Step 3: Print out the Anchor

In the Magic Link Mail you'll also find a link to our anchor, which you need to interact with the app. Print out the anchor and make sure that it matches the measurements provided in the PDF

Step 4: Get an AR-compatible pattern

Once you've bought an AR-compatible pattern it will be visible in the app, along with a selection of freely available 'Makerist' patterns you can use to test out the augmented reality function

Step 5: Start the transfer

Place your anchor over your fabric and select the pattern piece you want to work with. It helps to keep your phone about 30cm/11" away from the fabric. You can reposition the pattern piece in relation to the anchor via the app and trace off the lines you see in the camera using tailors chalk or a fabric marker
