What’s this: This is the Austin Squared Cowl. It was designed in collaboration with Julie Asselin Hand-dyed yarns & is a Tunisian crochet pattern.
Why should I make this: I fell in love with Julie Asselin’s My Austin Rose colourway. The result? A sweet cowl in a sublime colour, requiring only 1 skein and 1 short evening of Tunisian crochet.
When will this get the most use: Whenever you need some warmth!
Who is it for: This pattern is completely unisex.
Where do I start: This pattern is rated Advanced - You’ll need to know (or be eager to learn) Tunisian crochet stitches and principles (the pattern explains these in simple terms). You will need 230g of Super Bulky weight yarn (used here: Yotta by Julie Asselin Hand-dyed yarns) & a 9 mm interchangeable Tunisian hook with cord. Other notions: a 2’’ / 5 cm button, a yarn needle, and some stitch markers.
