Red Jamie Fox by Mary Jardin Wimberley
Red Jamie Fox is a standing Red fox cub made with mohair and alpaca. I show two versions of this fox to let you see how he works up in different lengths of fur. This is an advanced Sewing Pattern. Experience with making Teddy Bears is helpful. Red Jamie is intended as an adult collectible rather than a child’s toy.
This 9-page pattern for Red Jamie, is an original pattern for an 12” (13” with ears) (30 cm) fox cub with 6 joints and wired armature. The pattern pages are designed to fit horizontally on 8.5” x 11” paper. Once printed, pages can be folded in half to fit into a zip lock bag for storage.
There are three full pages of clearly marked pattern pieces with detailed instructions for cutting, trimming, marking and sewing the fox. The pattern pieces include dots for cotter pin or bolt insertion, openings for turning, seam allowance, nap arrows, notches for matching eye placement and more. This pattern also is easy to resize because I include the stitch line and also outlines of the discs so as you shrink or enlarge the pattern you can see where to stitch and what size discs to use.
Additionally there are three more pages of instructions for cutting, sewing, stuffing and detailing your own fox. You will also find techniques for creating eyelids, whiskers, eye insertion using a false head back, needle sculpting, and hand coloring, etc. The pattern includes a complete list of materials and a montage of photos for reference.
By purchasing this pattern you agree to not sell this pattern. You may sell a fox made from this pattern or a revised version as long as you mention it was made by Mary Wimberley of Mary’s Secret Garden. I have put many years of experience and many hours into the pattern so giving me credit helps me enormously. In fact share on Facebook if you if you feel so moved. ☺ Enjoy! Thanks so much for your support! Let me know if there are other animal patterns you would be interested in purchasing. You can go to my website www.marywimberley.com to look at my photo gallery and see what other animals I have made. Enjoy and please feel free to write with questions while you are constructing. So much love and good luck! Mary of the Secret Garden Look for the article in Teddy Bear Times April/May 2018!

Mary Wimberley
Hi! I'm Mary of Mary's Secret Garden. I've been a working artist for about 36 years, 26 of those years making soft sculpted critters. My Artist bear years were fun including selling bears on QVS, winning my share of contests but mostly loving interacting with the collectors and artists. Now my hands have become a little tired so I am combining my love of bear making, my pattern making skills and my love of teaching in these detailed soft sculpted animal patterns for artists and collectors to try for themselves. I love creating the animals from scratch and refining the patterns with illustrations, well labeled pattern pieces and complete directions so they are easily followed.. Each pattern contains unique secrets and techniques. Many consider the patterns their own continuing Education in Advanced Bear Making! The other thing I offer is my personal guidance and help as you construct your animal. I will even help you find your materials. Take a look at what I offer and see what you think. Please feel free to write with questions and friend me on Facebook to see what I am up to! Blessings, Mary of the Secret Garden
