Mary Wimberley’s Bonzo Bunny This Bunny Pattern can be made by Sewers with average Sewing skills preferably a background in making bears. The rabbit is intended as an adult collectible rather than a children’s toy. This 7 page pattern for Bonzo Bunny is for an 8” (20cm) standing jointed rabbit. The pattern is made for 8.5” x 11” paper and folded to fit into a plastic zip lock bag for your convenience. You will find never before published Mary’s Secret Garden techniques for creating eyelids, whiskers, leather noses, and my needle sculpting and airbrush techniques. The pattern includes a complete list of materials and a montage of photos for reference. There are two full pages of clearly marked pattern pieces with detailed instructions for cutting, trimming, marking and sewing the fur. The pattern pieces include dots for cotter pin or bolt insertion, openings for turning, seam allowance, nap arrows, eye placement and nose insertion dots, disc outlines (so you can increase of decrease pattern) and more. Additionally there are two pages of instructions for finishing the bunny including my special lop ear, my secret eyelid technique, my leather bunny nose technique, my unique way of inserting eyes, my needle sculpting technique, my special faux airbrushing technique, my whisker insertion technique and more! In the photos please notice that I have included another bunny named Grelf who is made of synthetic fur with alpaca cheeks. Bonzo is made of alpaca. I welcome questions so please write if you have any questions. If you want to sell your bunny, that is fine as long as you give me credit as the pattern maker but please do not share or sell the pattern. For example, I am offering Bubbles the Bunny, made from Mary Wimberley’s (of Mary’s Secret Garden) Bonzo Bunny pattern. Best of luck with your project! PS. Mary Wimberley
Hi! I'm Mary of Mary's Secret Garden. I've been a working artist for about 36 years, 26 of those years making soft sculpted critters. My Artist bear years were fun including selling bears on QVS, winning my share of contests but mostly loving interacting with the collectors and artists. Now my hands have become a little tired so I am combining my love of bear making, my pattern making skills and my love of teaching in these detailed soft sculpted animal patterns for artists and collectors to try for themselves. I love creating the animals from scratch and refining the patterns with illustrations, well labeled pattern pieces and complete directions so they are easily followed.. Each pattern contains unique secrets and techniques. Many consider the patterns their own continuing Education in Advanced Bear Making! The other thing I offer is my personal guidance and help as you construct your animal. I will even help you find your materials. Take a look at what I offer and see what you think. Please feel free to write with questions and friend me on Facebook to see what I am up to! Blessings, Mary of the Secret Garden
