Work Description

This is Thomasina, she is a small rag doll, only 21cms tall. This is a bright, colourful & jolly doll. I have designed a lot of dolls & when talking to people they are put off knitting dolls because of the legs, head & arms being sewn on separately. So, I have designed a doll whose legs, body & head are knitted all in one. The arms are knitted separately, but not stuffed with toy filling. I have used bright colours and strips in the design. There is some picking up of stitches on the striped body to add the frills, but I have made this as simple as possible. For beginners this is an ideal way to learn a new knitting skill, which is used in knitting jumpers. I have added a flower button to go in her hair, and added a teddy button. However, I would omit this if you are knitting for a child under 3 years of age. This is ideal for beginners and really knits up quickly.
