Sofia dress by Lenaline Patterns
Work Description
Made the Sofia dress in a pink rayon fabric with dainty white flowers that I’ve had in my stash for the longest time. I think this dress pattern and fabric choice is a stunning combination as the dress turned out so beautifully. The first time I wore this out my friend kept looking at the dress and asking if I had made it myself, and went on to say that it looked ‘store-bought’ and ‘so professionally made’ which is the highest of compliments! I made a UK size 12 and opted to not attach the second ruffle tier or the arm hole cuff (I finished the cuffs off with bias binding). The pattern itself is easy to follow and understand. Since the pattern is made to be oversized with an option to cinch in the waist by using the ties, you could definitely size down. My only tip for this pattern is to add your own seam allowance, which was a first for me as all the other patterns I’ve used have included it. This pattern was gifted to me as part of the Makerist Customer Ambassador Program Fabric purchased from Spotlight stores (Australia)
