Aster is named after an autumn flower grown in Britain. Aster is a Greek word meaning 'star'. Aster is also a birth flower for September. The giving of birth flowers were thought to have originated from the time of the Roman Empire. The meaning of Aster is: Love, Faith, Wisdom and symbolises Valour. I have used the colours of autumn: greens, reds & yellows. Aster wears a pleated skirt, detachable beret and scarf. The scarf is knitted in moss stitch and the beret has a large yellow bow on the side.
