PATTERN HACK INSPIRTATION!
— Look 1: Hacked Ramen dress —
Are you looking for the perfect hackable summer dress? Well look no further than the Raman dress pattern! This Raman dress by tammy handmade was made by My sweet sunshine
Here is how she hacked the pattern✨:
- Added 1” to the front bodice centre seam to create the button placket, including 1/2” seam allowance. Created buttonholes on her right side and sewed the buttons on the left. she also added interfacing along the edge for added stability.
- She only did 2 tiers for the skirt portion. The top tier is 14.5 (finished) and the bottom is 25 3/4” (finished). 3. In between each tier she did a 1 3/4” ruffle. Cut at 4”, folded and then gathered with the bottom tier to attach to the top tier. She followed the entire pattern to the very end! When it came to the peplum, she just extended it to skirt length and added a small 2 button placket to the centre 💗

— Look 3: The Alice dress hack—
This is a shirt dress with bust darts and a placket. Trimmed with a shirt collar. Straight skirt with gather at the waist. The sleeves are with elastic at the bottom.
What teegan made hacked this dress which started with the Alice dress pattern by Kates sewing patterns and ended up in a frilly oversized dress of DREAMS 👏The main pieces from original pattern are the neckline, placket and collar. "As someone who rarely sews collars I’m pretty happy with how this one ended up! It’s not perfect but it’s the neatest I’ve done. I ended up sewing the button placket together as I wanted it to look like the buttons are concealed underneath… also lazy 🤷🏻♀️"

— Look 4: The Mina Jumpsuit —
The fabulous and talented @sewnbyashika recently joined in on the fun #makeityourschallenge and made the Mina Jumpsuit by @clematisse.pattern in size 38! We love this Mina jumpsuit which has no zips or buttons which makes it a fab project for beginner level sewists!
She made the following adjustments:
🌸 She wanted the bodice to be more of a fitted look so she took it in from the sides by quite a bit.
🌸 She shortened the back bodice by a couple of cm to avoid gaping around the armholes
🌸 Added a puff sleeve with a cuff (self drafted - totally winged it, wasn’t sure if it would work but thankfully it came out okay).
🌸 Flared out the bottoms by a couple of cm
We absolutely love this shorts version of the pattern 😊
