You can create this sweet woodland forest nursery mobile featuring an owl, fox, deer, squirrel and bear, all hanging from two whimsical logs with a smattering of cheery leaves.
That special little one spends a lot of time looking up at the world from his/her crib and what happier scene could there be than this sweet little collection of hand-embroidered forest animals merrily hanging from logs. Even if you've never sewn or embroidered before, the detailed instructions included with this pattern set will have you stitching like a pro!
No sewing machine is required; everything is done by hand.
PLEASE NOTE: This pattern is rated as intermediate difficulty because it requires greater time and patience than most other patterns in this shop. Tiny animals are actually harder to make than larger ones, however the stitches and techniques used are all the same as the easier-rated patterns. If you have little or no experience sewing and are nervous to try this project, perhaps you could try another pattern first. However if you are an adventurous crafter with patience and attention to detail, you should have no trouble completing this project, even if you don't have experience with hand embroidery.

APPROX FINISHED SIZE:
Not including the string to hang it from the ceiling, this mobile is approximately 16 inches (40 cm) from top to bottom, and 10 inches (25 cm) in diameter. The animals themselves range between 3 and 4 inches tall (7.5 to 10 cm).

TIME TO MAKE:
Approximately 14 hours from start to finish. It is not a hard project, but it is a labour of love due to the time involved.
(The logs take 3.5 hours each to create. Without the wood grain detailing, you can make them in 40 minutes each, but I do recommend including the wood grain for the overall charm.)

DISCLAIMER:
Although the individual elements do not weigh much on their own, when assembling the pieces of this mobile it is important to tie securely and use strong thread so that pieces do not come loose and fall on your infant. Although they are not heavy enough to do any physical harm from a fall, the small pieces could pose a choking hazard if left unmonitored in little hands, and the pipe cleaner ends could scratch skin or eyes.
Please test your completed mobile for it’s strength and durability. It is advisable to hang it for a week or two before placing over an infant's crib to ensure it is holding together as it should.
You are making and using this mobile at your own risk as I cannot guarantee the safety of a product that I have not personally assembled.
