The Winding Stream Socks are designed to highlight that special hand dyed yarn in your stash without competing with it. The simple cable pattern is easily memorized and can be worked without a cable needle.
Sizes: Toddler (Child S, Child M, Child L/ Adult Small, Adult M, Adult L, Adult XL).
Finished Circumference: 5 (5 ½, 6, 6 ½, 7 ¼, 8 ¼, 9 ¼) in 12.5 (14, 15, 16.5, 18.5, 21, 23.5cm
Finished Foot Length: 5 (6, 7 ½, 9, 10, 11, 11 ½) in 12.5 (15, 19, 23, 25.5, 28, 29) cm
Yarn: Fingering weight yarn: 134 (166, 251, 329, 365, 443, 512) yds 123 (152, 230, 301, 334, 405, 468)m; Blue/ purple sample knit in MJ Yarns Simple Sock (75% superwash Corriedale wool, 25% nylon; 380 yds/ 340m per 100g/ 3.5 oz skein): Cerulean Twilight. White/ light blue sample knit in Ninja Chickens Eco Printed Sock Blank (100% organic wool wool; 405 yds/ 370m per 115 g.
Gauge: 34 sts/50 rnds = 4 in 10cm in stockinette st, blocked. 10-st cable measures approximately 1 in/2.5cm.
Needles: US #1 (2.25mm) 32 in circular needle (for magic loop) or dpns; Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Tapestry needle.
Notes: Socks are worked toe-up in the round; heels are shaped using German Short Rows.
