Worsted weight yarn is used to knit the simple, elegant Inner Layer, then using fingering weight yarn, stitches are picked up along the top of the brim to add the lace Outer Layer. Feel free to substitute lace weight yarn for a thinner hat!

Needles: Large: 16” & 40” long US 6 / 4mm circular needles for Magic Loop method, or DPN’s. Small: 16” & 40” long US 3 / 3.25mm circular needles for Magic Loop method, or DPN’s. OR size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 20 sts x 30 rows = 4” / 10cm in stockinette stitch knit in the round, using Large needles and MC yarn.

Tools: row counter, tapestry needle for weaving in ends, stitch marker for noting beginning of round, 5 contrasting stitch markers for crown shaping
