This Add-On consists of very detailed sewing instructions. It is not just a simple sewing tutorial, but rather structured like "a real book" or even "screenshots of a video + text", with lots of tips and info. Advanced sewers can just sew by pictures and read up if something is unclear and skip the rest of the pages. Beginners, on the other hand, might miss these pages. So everyone has the chance to sew my patterns. It contains metric measurements that have been additionally converted to inches. Interfacing is listed by Vlieseline and Pellon.
Please note: To work with this add-on you need the VARA Ebook/pattern, which is available separately (or as a bundle).
VARA Add-On
Difficulty: 3 of 5 – Working time: about 4-7 hours
In this add-on I show you how to add some length to the VARA bag so that you can wear it as a city backpack or convertible shoulder bag/backpack. The add-on also includes the VARA pattern pieces in two additional sizes: Mini & Big. VARA Mini measures approx. 22cm x 26cm (9" x 10") and VARA Big measures approx. 32cm x 38cm (13" x 15"). You can add length to all three sizes, so you can carry every size as a backpack.
You can use this zipper pocket as an alternative to the zipper exterior pocket in the main instructions or use it inside the bag. If you want to, you can hide the zipper behind a small, attractive zipper placket.
In this add-on I show you how to add some length to the VARA bag (all three sizes) so that you can wear it as a city backpack or convertible. This way, it cuts an even better figure as a backpack(bag) or tote bag.
If desired, you can add a grab handle to the top of your VARA, making it easier to carry in your hand.
To carry VARA permanently as a backpack, the backpack straps are sewn into the top seam. You can choose from a variety of options: straps from 25mm (1") to 40mm (1 1/2") wide (Option A) or straps 40mm (1 1/2") wide ending at 25mm (1") wide (Option B).
Depending on your chosen strap option there are different connector options available. A triangular holder is used for options A and B. For the convertible backpack bag, you also have an alternative strap connector to choose from.
For the convertible crossbody/backpack (Option C) you will need two long carrying straps. You can use webbing up to 40mm (1 1/2") wide. Either carry VARA on one strap as a crossbody bag or add the second strap to wear VARA as a backpack.

Hansedelli
Even as a child I always wanted to look behind things and know how they work. I never wanted to become a teacher or a veterinarian like the other children, but always an inventor. So with the foundation of my label Hansedelli in April 2014 I fulfilled a childhood dream, because as a designer you are somehow an inventor :-)
As Hansedelli I design patterns for bags, purses and co. and create sewing instructions. I attach a lot of importance to detailed instructions and good photos, so that even beginners can follow the instructions. Visit me on Facebook www.facebook.com/hansedelli or on my website www.hansedelli.de
