You will love making this modern take on the classic tote. Measuring 15'' x 14'' x 8'', this roomy tote will fit towels, snacks, books, sunscreen, water bottle, and so much more! The exterior features 2 big side pockets, a cut out center, sturdy handles, and optional side snaps. The pattern offers several options for the lining including a zipper pocket. Recommended materials are quilting cotton for the exterior with fusible interfacing, and sturdy duck cloth for the lining. The bag uses a 1/2 yard of quilting cotton, an FQ of quilting cotton, and a 1/2 yard of 54'' duck cloth. There is very little waste!
Beginner sewers will love the straightforward directions and more simple base option. More advanced sewers will love mixing their favorite fabrics and the sturdy base option with interior binding that gives their bag extra structure. All sewers will love how quickly everything comes together so that you can get out the door and start your vacation early!
Vacation Totes made from this bag can be sold on a small handmade scale online and at craft shows. Please give Gingercake Patterns credit for the pattern.
