Materials you need at home:
- 2 to 4 – 100 gram ball Double Knitting yarn in Main Colour (depending on size)
- 1 - 50 gram ball of Double Knitting yarn in Contrast Colour 1
- 1 pair of 4 mm (UK8 – USA6) knitting needles
- 1 pair of 3 1/4 mm (UK10 – USA3) knitting needles
Knitting pattern for one of the world's most recognisable dinosaurs. The Triceratops Dinosaur is recognised by its large body, unique frill and three horns. Luckily for us they lived around 65 million years ago! They were mighty warriors as fossil evidence shows that they did battle with the ferocious T-rex, and could survive the fight.
Pattern is for ages 2-7 years
YARN Any Double Knitting (8 ply) yarn can be used so long as it gives the same tension as below. This round necked sweater as shown is knitted in Cascade 220 Superwash DK. A link to the on-line yarn supplier is included in the pattern.
Tension – 22 stitches and 28 rows to 10 cm (4 inches) over stocking (stockinette) stitch
The pattern includes colour coded sizes for ages from 2 to 7 years and a large full-page coloured intarsia chart for the Velociraptor

I first started to design clothes for my children when they were younger and went on to sell garments through shops and craft fairs. I also taught the use of machine knitting and knitwear design. I later followed a career in IT, but I now have grandchildren and whilst hand knitting for them was inspired to start designing and creating knitting patterns again.
