Materials you need at home:
- MC 1 skein SweetGeorgia Yarns Silk Fog in Mink; 255 yd (233 m) per 1.75 oz (50 g) skein; 76% Cultivated Silk, 24% Fine Kid Mohair
- CC 1 skein SweetGeorgia Yarns CashLuxe Fine in Tumbled Stone; 400 yd (365 m) per 4 oz (115 g) skein; 70% Superwash Merino Wool, 20% Cashmere, 10% Nylon
- 3.5 mm (US 4) and 3.75 mm (US 5) circular needles, 60 cm (24") long
- 5⁄8" (1.5 cm) buttons (number of buttons varies depending on how you choose to wear the cowl)
A quick little project combining a double strand of Silk Fog in a simple lace pattern with the luxurious CashLuxe Fine done in contrasting garter ridges. Two buttonholes are worked on one end, but don’t let that limit you from using the holes in the lace pattern as buttonholes! Sew on several buttons for lots of options when wearing, or just use a couple. The cowl can be worn loose as shown as well as snug and cozy around the neck or at a rakish, asymmetrical angle.
Skills required: basic knitting skills, yarn overs, k2tog/ssk decs, working from simple lace chart or written instructions, picking up stitches, sewing on button
