The Foothills Hat is based off the foothills of the mountains where I live. They form a triangle shape that runs up the mountains, and are the inspiration for the brim design of the hat. Made out of bulky weight yarn, this hat knits up fast.
The pattern is for a one-size-fits-all hat, but instructions are given on how to reduce or increase the size of the hat to whatever you need. The given pattern is about a S/M adult size.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner You will need to know how to knit in the round on circular needles, and how to knit and purl. Instructions are given on how to complete the cables and the jute stitch (body of the hat).
Yarn: bulky weight, approximately 110 yds/100m (pictured is Wool of the Andes Superwash Bulky in Camel)

I first learned to knit to avoid homework, and now I knit and crochet to avoid housework :D
I first learned to knit so I could take a break from my college classes with something productive. I gradually improved and found I enjoyed designing my own patterns. Everything I design is something I would wear, or would have my children wear. I love simple and elegant designs, and I strive to make my patterns doable for those with little experience knitting or crocheting.
