This is a great festive mug warmer! Perfect for getting into the holiday spirit.
This mug warmer is knit flat with fingering weight yarn from Jamieson’s of Shetland spindrift yarn with 2.5US (3mm) needles. The three colours used are: Eggshell, Dark Navy, and Spruce. However there are endless colour possibilities!
Two buttons (0.75” (1.75cm) or of any desired size) are needed to fasten the warmer around a mug. Also a crochet hook is used to crochet chain a small loop so that it can be attached to loop around the buttons. Alternatively some ribbon or thick yarn could be used instead of the crochet chain.
The instructions are for one size with completed measurements of 10.5” (27cm) by 3.25” (8cm). If a smaller or larger size is desired depending on the mug being knitted for then an extra or one less repeat of the fairisle chart can be worked.
This is a perfect way to use leftover yarn!

We are three sisters that love knitting!
Our Scottish grandmother taught us to knit when we were 5 and 7 years old and we have been knitting ever since. Over the years after adapting patterns and then designing various pieces Fiona realised that we should be making these new creations into patterns that can then be shared with others. All three of us have our own design styles and interests but love to help each other with these designs even though we have become geographically dispersed across Canada, England, and Scotland. In terms of knitting style we love natural fibers and colour! Fiona in particular has a thing for fair isle design and Hannah loves wildlife (birds in particular).
