This play food pentagon of Scottish Shortbread is a fun, easy make and forms an instantly recognisable addition to any collection of play food or pin cushions. The top of the shortbread slice has a Scottish Thistle, or Cluaran, as the Scots say.
The 5 page pattern has been knitted here in Women's Institute 4 ply. The biscuits can also be made from other 4 ply yarns, in particular James C Brett Baby 4 Ply, and, like all play food, make a great stash buster.
Whether made as an individual slice or whole pentagon, the shortbread is perfect for home collections or for selling at fundraising fairs and look as tempting as the real thing...

I wouldn't say I forget everything else when I'm designing... but I do drink a lot of cold coffee! I'm an obsessive knitter who began writing patterns whenever one I bought proved disappointing or when I couldn't find quite what I wanted My patterns are designed to be as easy as possible to make and as straightforward as possible to make up. They're designed to be fun!
