This fun and easy to wear Rope Cowl is inspired by the twisting of ropes with its delicate lace detail that mimics cables. This pattern is a part of the Progress, Hope and Happiness 2019 Collection for the #happinessmakealong2019
The cowl is knit in the round with a British moss stitch (seed stitch) border around the bottom (cast on) and top (cast off) edges.
The finished size after blocking is 12” (30.5cm) tall by width circumference 36” (91.5cm). The cowl can be made narrower or wider by completing less or more repeats of the rope lace chart.
The photographed sample was knit with 3mm (2.5US) circular needles (length 40cm (16”)) and 1 skein of ModeWerk Lace, ModeKnit Yarns (100% superwash merino), 100 grams/852 meters (936 yards), in Saturn Spring colour.
The pattern includes a chart for the lace work.
Enjoy and happy knitting!

We are three sisters that love knitting!
Our Scottish grandmother taught us to knit when we were 5 and 7 years old and we have been knitting ever since. Over the years after adapting patterns and then designing various pieces Fiona realised that we should be making these new creations into patterns that can then be shared with others. All three of us have our own design styles and interests but love to help each other with these designs even though we have become geographically dispersed across Canada, England, and Scotland. In terms of knitting style we love natural fibers and colour! Fiona in particular has a thing for fair isle design and Hannah loves wildlife (birds in particular).
