Contains:
- 16 page PDF tutorial with Instructions in both imperial and metric.
- 34 photos to illustrate the process for making both projects.
- Due to the nature of digital products, all PDF pattern sales are final.
Materials you need at home:
- 2 fabric scraps (8" x 8" or 20cm x 20cm) for each plate or fortune cookie
- Fusible fleece of corresponding measurements & amounts (2 for fabric plate, 1 for each fortune cookie)
- CD and/or small plate to trace around
- Small scrap of Peltex if making the plate
Are you looking for something new to make with your various fabric scraps? Well, here is something that is a little out of the ordinary and definitely fun!
This is a two-in-one sewing tutorial for how to make some fabric fortune cookies, as well as a quilted fabric plate on which to display them. The cookies are super easy and can easily be made by anyone; the plate is more complex but can be accomplished by a confident beginner.
The cookies can be made out of any size fabric circle (2 per cookie), but if you use a CD as your template, you'll get close to "life size" fortune cookies.
The plate can also be made to your own size preference. The one described in the tutorial (using a couple of 8" x 8" scraps) will yield a plate about 7.75" or 19.5cm across.

A budding seamstress in my youth, I abandoned the hobby for almost three decades. Then I discovered that people sewed "stuff" besides clothes and quilts. What an eye-opener! The discovery led to a personal sewing journey... one that has seen me progress from student to designer. Check in with me every Saturday morning to see what new discoveries I've made and soak up inspiration from freebies that you won't find here. (P.S. Looking for the best deal?
