Nicandra is an all-season parka cut in short size 160 cm , which can be sewn as a jacket, knee-length parka or long parka. Unlined it is a light summer parka, with a thin lining it is suitable for spring and autumn.

The sleeve cuffs with thumb hole included in the pattern and a warm lining make Nicandra suitable for winter. The spacious, detachable hood can be easily and quickly reduced with the velcro insert, if desired, so that it does not fall too low on the face. The sleeve hem can also be adjusted with Velcro. Slash pockets and an optional zipped chest pocket offer plenty of space for many things. Drawstrings at the waist and bottom hem give Nicandra a great shape, and a slit at the centre back is both a functional and chic detail.

Suggested materials: In general, all non-stretch fabrics are possible, such as canvas, half-panama or poplin, softshell is particularly suitable, jeans and corduroy are recommended, oilskin was found to be particularly good by my test sewers, but even thick sweat has already been used and has proved its worth. If you are sewing with lining, you should choose a different size depending on the thickness of the lining!

Difficulty level: Nicandra is not difficult to sew for experienced seamstresses, but it does take some time, as the processing of the many parts can be a bit time-consuming depending on your sewing experience.
