Recommended Fabrics: Beginner - Cotton lawn, cotton poplin, light to medium weight denim, baby corduroy, quilting cotton. Line these fabrics with cotton lawn or poplin.
Experienced - taffeta, brocade, non-stretch velvet, velvet, silk dupion, triple crepe or satin. Line these fabrics with an anti-static polyester lining, plain crepe or viscose.
Notions: Both - 16” invisible zip Wrap skirt - 2.5m of 1.5cm wide bias binding for hem
Equipment: Sharp fabric scissors, sewing machine with appropriate needle, sharp pins, basic sewing tools, invisible zip foot.
Sizing It is vitally important, when sewing your own clothes, to take accurate measurements of your body, and not rely on the sizing you expect to buy on the high street. This is why we’ve switch out the usual sizes (eg, 8-22) for our own system of numbers 1-8. You have to measure yourself to pick your size!
