Details:
The Musling hoodie and sweater is a relaxed-fit pattern specifically designed for muslin. Other lightweight, non-stretch fabrics such as linen or tencel are also suitable. Muslin is wonderfully comfortable, airy, and light on the skin. Perfect for warm summer days, autumn, and transitional weather. The fabric gently covers the skin, while still allowing air to pass through. The Musling can be worn with or without a shirt underneath.
Musling can be sewn with a wrap-around hood or a wrap-around collar. A sweater version with two different neckline widths and a neckband is also possible. You can choose between a kangaroo pocket that extends across the entire width and is sewn into the side seam, or an applied kangaroo pocket. Another option is to skip the cuffs and hem instead. You can also make casual 3/4 sleeves with a band or with a cuff. All variations, including the pattern pieces, are explained in the ebook and included in the pattern.
The name "Musling" comes from Danish and means "shell." The texture of muslin reminds me of shells.
