Materials you need at home:
- In addition to the materials for the Moon Bag Luna Mini:
- For an exterior zipper pocket: Zipper (by-the-meter/yard), 30mm (1 1/4“) wide (#5) or wider: 25cm/10“ and some additional lining fabric
- For Lining Variant B: 18 mm wide pre-made bias tape, 2 pieces of 55 cm / 22" each, or a 35 mm wide bias strip cut from lightweight cotton fabric, 2 pieces of 55 cm / 22" each
- For padding: Foam stabilizer, e.g., Style-Vil, and optionally double-sided tape (Wondertape).
Moon Bag Luna Add-On for the MINI body bag
This add-on to the Moon Bag Luna Mini pattern allows you to create the model C version of this stylish crossbody bag.
Please note: You will need the Moon Bag Luna Mini pattern to use this extension.
Sew a compact crossbody bag with a sleek narrow bag base (7 cm / 2 3/4“) and give it a fresh look with added padding and an extra zipper pocket on the outside.
This add-on contains four extensions:
- Pattern for the narrow bag base (Model C):. This model can be lined like Model B or with the new lining variant described here.
- Exterior zipper pocket: Add a zipper pocket to the bag’s exterior, adaptable for all models, sewn similarly to the interior lining pocket.
- New lining option (Variant B): Each outer fabric piece is first sewn together with a matching lining piece. Then, the bag is assembled. Any visible seams inside the bag are finished with bias tape for a clean look.
- Padding for a firmer bag: This padding gives the bag a structured yet soft feel, perfect with Lining Variant B. Especially suited for leather or faux leather, this combination enhances the bag’s shape for a polished, sophisticated look.
The instructions are fully illustrated, with each step explained in detail, making it accessible for beginners.
