Mapala Sweater Mohair Edition is worked seamlessly top down with double thread and a round yoke. The high neckline is worked with a provisional cast on, folded to the sweaters wrong side and knit together at the cast on edge. The neckline is shaped with short rows. For the ribbing in different lengths, the body is divided into front and back piece. The sleeves are worked in the round.

Waste yarn marker in contrasting colour, about 2 m long, of thesame thickness as the working thread, for provisional cast on.

Recommended needles Circular needles 5 mm and 6 mm (40, 60 and 80 and/or 100 cm long),

Dpns 5 mm,

additionally, a 2nd circular needle 5 mm (40 cm long) (or see „Note“) for double folded neckline.

Alternatively, you can work with the Magic Loop method, for which you will need a circular needle (min. 80 cm long).

Note: Choose your circular needle for the ribbing at the neckline, so that it is not stretched, when knitting in the round. If too much tention is applied to the stitches during knitting, the neckline may become too wide despite the exact number of stitches.

Knit a gauge swatch first and adjust needle size, if necessary.

Supplies: 3 stitch marker, 2 stitch marker in contrasting colour for round’s beginning, 2 stitch holder or waste yarn, wool needle, measuring tape, scissors.

Gauge (double thread), washed and blocked: 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch = 14 sts x 22 rows on needle 6 mm.
