ABOUT THE PATTERN The Lavinia Shawlette is a simple crescent shawl worked in fingering weight yarn with a lacy Roman Stripe at the bottom. Lots of stockinette stitch makes this a great project to take on the go.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS One Size: About 52” [132 cm] wingspan by 14” [35.5 cm] deep
MATERIALS Yarn: 420 yds [385 m] Fingering weight yarn, optional 25 yds [23 m] DK weight yarn for finishing Sample shawls knit in Araucania Yarns Huasco Sock in the color 1001 Capuchinbird and Malabrigo Mechita in the color 227 Volcan finished with 20 yds [18 m] of complementary DK weight yarn on the Bottom Edging and Bind Off. Each sample used very nearly all of one fingering weight ball or about 420 yards (100 g). Needles: Size US 2 [3.00 mm] circular(s) for Fingering weight (or size needed to get gauge), optional Size US 4 [3.50 mm] circular for DK weight finishing Notions: tapestry needle
