The socks can be made from any knit fabric with at least 25% stretch (a stretch gauge is included in the pattern). This means cotton lycra, French Terry, sweater knit, stretch lace, stretch chiffon, polyblend, rayon spandex etc are all good choices.

Sock heights require vastly varying amounts of fabric, but even the overknee socks can be made from 1/2 yard.
