These Lace Sneaker Socks are the ideal breezy summer socks if they are knitted with a lighter yarn (especially with cotton/wool blends) but they can also be nice and cozy for those dark fall days!
The lace pattern is visible enough to be an eye-catcher but not so holey that your feet will get cold. You can either use a flashy yarn for this (like I have) or even use a solid color to make the lace stand out more.
I have chosen my favorite round toe shape, which is really pretty and also easy to understand.
You can knit these socks as sneaker socks by knitting a short cuff or even as regular socks by knitting a long cuff.
The heel has a heel flap with a slip stitch rib.
The ribbing of the heel and the lace pattern of the foot go very well together.
The videos are for socks in the size 37 (US 6) but the written instructions include tips on how to knit the socks in other sizes (EU 28-45).
You will however need to cast on 56, 64 or 72 stitches!
You will need about 100 g of 4-ply sock yarn to knit these socks. The instructions are written for DPNs (2.5 mm), but you can also knit the socks using the Magic Loop technique.
The pattern include step-by-step instructions for the lace pattern, heel and toe shape.

My name is Hilke and I am a knitter from Aachen, who loves to sew. Haalu has already been around since June 2013. First I sold handmade purses, pencil cases or mobile phone cases on Dawanda, simply because I didn't need as much stuff as I was making. :) Some time ago I have started writing my own sewing and knitting ebooks to help others find their own enjoyment in crafting.
