The HAPPY Sweater is a warm and cosy sweater with a generous cut and positive ease. The sweater is knitted top down in raglan style. After knitting the raglan the body and sleeves are separated. First the body afterwards the sleeves are knitted in rounds. This colourful mix is created by knitting in two strands with two different colour gradation yarns. So, every HAPPY Sweater has a unique colour pattern. The neckline and seam on the sleeves are created by a folded rib pattern. In the baby sizes 50/56 and 62/68 the seam at the neckline and sleeves is not folded over, as I feel this would otherwise be too thick for the petite baby body. To avoid gaps under the arms this pattern includes a step-by-step explanation (with pictures) of increased stitches under the arms. In addition, the sewn bind off is explained step by step with pictures.
The pattern is suitable for experienced beginners. It uses techniques such as the provisional cast on (youtube links provided), increasing stitches under the arms (with step by step explanation including pictures) and casting off with needle (with step by step explanation including pictures). However, there is always a described alternative if you don’t feel confident with this technique.
Update 03.01.2024: One colour combination, which is mentioned in the pattern (not shown on this site), is made up of the colour 154 (Mille Colori Baby), among others. Unfortunately, this colour is no longer produced by the manufacturer. I am already working on an alternative colour combination and will publish it with corresponding pictures as soon as it is finished.
