This is a digital sewing pattern PDF for the K.I.S.S. top, a knit pullover top with boat neckline, drop shoulders with ¾ length tapered sleeves, and a nice straight hem. For those of you who don’t already know, K.I.S.S. is an acronym for Keep It Simple, Stupid. This top offers the rare combination of a flattering silhouette with very easy construction. Look like a million bucks without breaking a sweat, is what’s up.
Suggested fabrics: any knit fabric with a minimum of 25% stretch across grain (250 GSM bamboo jersey knit is shown in sample pics and it’s perfect, you can also use sweater knit if you’re fancy, sweatshirt fleece if you’re not, etc)
There is a 1/2" seam allowance included but not marked on the sewing pattern.
Materials needed:
*1.5 – 2 yds fabric (60” width, and you will need more fabric if width is much less than 60”)
*Sewing machine
*Serger (you can get away with just using a sewing machine to finish the seams, but it won’t be as pretty or as sturdy)
*Thread
*Iron and ironing board
- Knit binding for neckline (buy or make your own, 1-1.25” width)
Note: if you’re using a thicker fabric for your top, you’ll need a thinner fabric for the binding, like rayon knit
Suggested skill level: Experienced Beginner and Beyond.
Needed Know-Hows:
*How to use sewing machine and serger (or must know how to finish seams without serger)
*Experience in sewing garments
*Working with chosen fabric type
*Following sewing pattern instructions
