Materials you need at home:
- I used a DK (8 ply) cotton yarn, but this pattern will work with any DK yarn you choose. , For warmer months, stick to cotton and blends, for winter, choose wool. Amounts given are approximate only and will vary depending on yarn used. , If in doubt, buy an extra ball. , You will need 100, 150, 150, 200, 200, 250 g in the main colour (the one the ribbing is done in) and , 100, 100,100,150,150,200 g in the contrast colour , , You can introduce a third colour if you like, then you will need 50, 50, 50, 100, 100, 100 g of that , reduce amount of first contrast colour accordingly. , , See ideas for variations at end of pattern. This is a flat knit pattern, apart from the ribbing for the sweater without hood. , I use circular needles anyway as it is easier, especially to do the ribbing for the hood. Knitting Needles circular 60 cm or 24 inches long 4 mm (US 6) and 3.25 mm (US 3) set of 3.25 mm DPN's for ribbing at neck , darning needle for seaming , stitch holders , 5,5,5,6,6,6 buttons 20 mm, you can use larger for the bigger sizes if desired

It is an easy to knit pattern with easy raglan shaping. The sweater is knit flat, but the sweater ribbing is done with DPN's. The ribbing on the hood is knit flat but done with circular needles.
