Originally released in 2018 as part of the Knitpicks’ Everyday Wraps Collection, this shawl pattern has been updated with an alternate ending edge. The Joycejubilaire shawl was created to embody strength and stability as a gift for a very ill friend. With its arches and emphasized columns design the shawl mirrors the architectural strength of bridges, or the mighty strength of arched walkways with their supporting columns. The shawl begins with a basic garter stitch crescent body that is framed both on top and bottom edges by small lace border arches. Then the main bright colored lace is added, then finished with larger, optionally beaded, arches and a small eyelet strip. The shawl only looks complicated, but the lace is not difficult at all. The pattern is detailed with row-by-row instructions and also charted.

I live in San Diego, CA and recently retired from an amazing international work live. I’ve published my first pattern in 2013. Now I design and knit and crochet full time. It was easy to switch from work-travel to pleasure-travel. Should you be interested in any of my designs or patterns and need more information before you make the purchase, please don’t hesitate and send me your questions. I will answer any questions as promptly as possible.
