A toe-up colourwork design which reminds me of the patterns on turkish carpets; finished with a choice of a traditional ribbed cuff, or a two colour hemmed picot edge if you’re feeling adventurous.
Sizes - measured around midfoot:
- Medium - to fit foot size 8 - 9” (20.25 - 22.75 cm)
- Large - to fit foot size 9.5 - 11.5” (24 - 29 cm)
Gauge - 9 sts x 10 rows = 1 inch/ 2.5cm, colourwork in the round on 2.75mm needles
Please note that there is a jump of 12 stitches between the two sizes, so if you fall between the two, you may wish to consider making adjustments in the needle size.
In terms of the amount of yarn you need, for both sizes I would suggest 100g of main colour; for the contrast you should be fine with just 50g for the smaller size and you may be with the larger but I would say that unless you love playing yardage chicken you’d be safer with 100g.
The instructions for the construction of the socks are all written, the colourwork pattern is only charted.
