The ebook includes the pattern KRIM for babies by Nähfrosch, detailed sewing instructions with many photos and adjustment options, as well as practical tips for sewing.
Somehow everyone looks stylish in a sweatshirt-jacket, but the little ones just look the coolest! Especially when this favorite piece boasts such convincing details like the ones in the pattern KRIM. Sporty raglan seams, hood with middle strip, attached kangaroo pouches, practical zipper with chin protection as well as hem and sleeve cuffs. You can hardly get more stylish features than that, can you?
Alternatively to the hood, you can also quickly sew a neck cuff. This also looks great! Wanna bet your model wants to have both versions?
We are especially proud of this name, because it fits this favorite garment so well. KRIM is Indonesian and translates into "cream". In German you would say the jacket is the "cream topping" (on the child) ;)
Actually, sewing the jacket KRIM is not rocket science. Especially not when it comes to baby sizes. But since attaching the zipper is a bit tricky, we have classified the difficulty level as "medium". This doesn't mean, of course, that beginners aren't allowed to try it out! With our step-by-step instructions you are certainly able to succeed.
Fabric recommendations
For the baby sweatshirt-jacket KRIM you can use classic sweatshirt fabric, French terry, jersey, velour, jacquard or elastic corduroy.
The hem cuff and the sleeve hems can be sewn either from the same fabric as the jacket, as long as it is somewhat stretchy, or from cuffed fabric.
Fabric consumption
For KRIM you need the following amounts of fabric (based on 140 cm fabric width plus seam allowances and buffers):
Sizes 56 - 74 = 80 cm Sizes 80 - 98 = 90 cm
Divisible zipper: Sizes 56 - 68 = 25 cm Sizes 74 - 86 = 30 cm Sizes 92 - 98 = 35 cm
For alle sizes: - If applicable, cuffed fabric - Transparent elastic - Color matching sewing thread
