She would have worn a hat like this one – it’s the classic shape of the Jazz Age - the cloche - and the inspiration for this design. It has a lace crown, in an unfussy, modern, geometric pattern of chevrons; a horizontal golden silk band with a cable design, for glitz and glamour; and a zigzag lace edging in silk to frame the face. I think Daisy would have loved it!

Finished Measurements and sizes One size. Hat measures 19”/48 cm circumference. It is stretchy and should fit most adult heads. The brim will come down to the eyebrows, or lower, depending on how you adjust it.

Construction Notes

The cabled strip is worked flat, vertically, and grafted into a circle. Then stitches are picked up along one long edge to work the crown, which is knitted in the round. The lacy zigzag brim is worked vertically as a flat strip, grafted into a circle, then sewn to the other side of the cabled strip.
