Groton is knit in-the-round from the bottom up and consists of two-by-two ribbing at the brim coupled with stockinette stitch and an intuitive fair isle pattern. Instructions for the fair isle pattern are both written and charted. You may alter the height of the hat by working more or less additional rounds after completing the fair isle section and prior to working the crown shaping. The Pom Pom is optional, but I really like how it “finishes” the hat.
Purple hat is shown in Marianated Yarns Playtime DK Morning Mist (MC) and Jujubee DK Mini in Amethyst (CC). Charcoal hat is shown Marianated Yarns Playtime DK in Spelunking (MC) and Jujubee DK Mini in Morning Mist (CC).
