What’s this: This is the Grinch Shawl. It was inspired by the photos of the knit Clincher by Ash Kearns Handknitting: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/clincher & is a Tunisian crochet pattern.
Why should I make this: The Tunisian Crochet & Standard Crochet Grinch is just as practical as the knit pattern that inspired it, and it’ll allow you to practice Tunisian stitches for a fantastic piece. I highly recommend using a sock yarn with short, tonal colour changes.
When will this get the most use: Whenever you need some warmth!
Who is it for: This pattern is completely unisex.
Where do I start: This pattern is rated Advanced - You’ll need to know (or be eager to learn) Tunisian crochet stitches and principles (the pattern explains these in simple terms). You will need 100g of Fingering weight yarn + 50g of DK weight yarn & a 3.5 mm interchangeable Tunisian hook with cord. Other notions: a yarn needle, and some stitch markers.
