Gecko is a swim / sports shorts pattern for boys available from 2 to 16 years old. Two lengths for the shorts are possible (mid-thigh and above the knee). For a swimming version, you can add an inner briefs (mesh fabric) or an inner boxer (lycra fabric). For a sports shorts version, choose the boxer lining (jersey or lycra). The inner boxer can be made in a shorter or a longer length, so that if you choose the shorter shorts with the longer boxer, the lining will protrude from the hem of the shorts for a super cool look! You can also sew the shorts without lining. The front pockets with welt-like bands at their opening edges are optional but not difficult to make. An elastic is inserted in the waistband, which can be finished with a drawstring. With its classic and comfortable cut, Gecko is the ideal swim shorts for your boys at the beach or during their summer activities. More original, the version with a boxer lining provides a good support which allows Gecko to be used also as sport shorts. Finally, in its version without lining, Gecko is a very simple shorts to be sewn without moderation!
