This quilt comes together quick as can be, thanks to the large scale of the patchwork and an ingenious & efficient method of making your flying geese blocks. It's simple enough for new quilters and is a great introduction to matching your points, as the large blocks are pretty forgiving.
The Four Winds quilt pattern includes 3 sizes:
Large Throw (64 x 64") Twin (70" x 90") Queen/King (96" x 96") FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
Large Throw: 6 fat quarters, 2-2/3 yards background fabric, 4-1/4 yards* backing/binding fabric Twin: 6 fat quarters, 4-5/8 yards background fabric, 5-3/4 yards* backing/binding fabric Queen/King: 12 fat quarters, 6 yards background fabric, 8-1/4 yards* backing/binding fabric *The method of binding in this pattern is back-to-front or self-binding—using the excess backing to wrap around to the front of the quilt. If you would prefer to finish your quilt with a more traditional 2-1/4 crossgrain strip binding, you will need an additional: (Throw) 1/2 yd, (Twin) 5/8 yd, or (Queen/King) 3/4 yd of binding fabric.
