These adorable little bunnies are the perfect Easter decoration and gift! They are a great project to use up leftover yarn and there are endless colour combinations for the fair isle sweater detail on the body. They are also very simple to knit as they are worked flat as four pieces and then sewn together.
These bunnies are knit with 3.5mm (4US) straight needles and fingering weight yarn from Jamieson’s of Shetland spindrift yarn. The four colours used are: Eggshell, Port Wine, Camel, and Bluebell. However there are endless colour possibilities and any other weight yarns would also suite this design!
These bunnies are knit as four flat pieces (two ears, head, and body). Then the pieces are sewn together with a handful of stuffing for the head and body. A small pompom can be made for the tail (which is very easy!).
The pattern includes instructions for two sizes, small and large. The small is approximately 3” (7.5cm) long by 1.5” (4cm) tall, and the large is approximately 4.5” (11.5cm) long by 2.5” (6.5cm) tall.
The pattern includes written instructions and a chart for the fair isle. There is also a diagram for how to sew the bunny together.
These are a great way to use up leftover yarn and decorate the house!

We are three sisters that love knitting!
Our Scottish grandmother taught us to knit when we were 5 and 7 years old and we have been knitting ever since. Over the years after adapting patterns and then designing various pieces Fiona realised that we should be making these new creations into patterns that can then be shared with others. All three of us have our own design styles and interests but love to help each other with these designs even though we have become geographically dispersed across Canada, England, and Scotland. In terms of knitting style we love natural fibers and colour! Fiona in particular has a thing for fair isle design and Hannah loves wildlife (birds in particular).
