THE EVENING ENVELOPE CLUTCH
This little clutch is the perfect compliment to both fancy evening wear and stylish daytime outfits. It looks just as great in silk as it does in denim!
FINISHED DIMENSIONS
The envelope clutch lies flat at 11" wide and 6" tall. It has a flap with optional piping, a magnetic snap closure, and a 7.5" wide interior pocket.
Check out my blog for a tutorial on how to easily adjust the size of this clutch for a totally different look here: http://www.blog.hollandcox.com/2011/09/wear-it-this-weekend-diy-envelope-clutch/
SUGGESTED FABRICS
Medium-weight evening fabrics with some body, like silk or poly blend brocade, damask, shantung, taffeta or dupioni would be great choices for the outside (or "self") fabric. Silky and thin, but slightly stiff fabrics meant for window treatments are perfect for this clutch. Use the same fabric or something slightly lighter weight for the lining.
Avoid fabrics that are sheer, stretchy, knit, drapey, slippery, heavyweight, or with pile like velvet or faux fur.
