Add even more custom flair to your own special Dragon creature. This pattern includes instructions for HUGE Epic Pride Wings - Make each panel in the same color, or different gradient colors!! This pattern is meant to be used in conjunction with the Main Adult Dragon Pattern by Crafty Intentions OR the Fairy Cat Dragon Pattern by Crafty Intentions.
This pattern is 43 pages long. The last 8 pages of the PDF are a text-only printer-friendly version of the pattern. To conserve on printer ink, you can selectively print these pages. SUPPLY LIST
Yarn, in Worsted weight, all amounts are approximate: Base panel: 47 yds per panel (1 panel per wing) Panels: 31 yds per panel (5-6 panels per wing) Body color: 127 yds for both wings
G (4.0mm) Hook
Darning Needle
Polyfil
Armature Wire ¼ Inch, 10 Feet length
Wire cutter or other tool that will cut through ¼ inch wire
**Important Note: This pattern is for the wings only. You will need an ADULT DRAGON or FAIRY CAT DRAGON (or another large Crafty Intentions Dragon) to attach the wings to. It is highly recommended you use a standing dragon or a sitting dragon with two straight FULL FRONT LEGS. The wire for the wings will run down the length of the front legs to provide additional support. Assemble your dragon fully EXCEPT for sewing and stuffing the front legs (DO add 18 gauge wire to the front legs as directed in the Dragon pattern). You can start to sew the UNSTUFFED and wired upper front legs to the body, but you must leave the tops of the legs open – you will need to insert the sturdy wing wire into the standing front legs once the wings are assembled. DO NOT add gems to the feet of the dragon’s front legs; the wire will not fit in the feet if you use glass gems. For the Fairy Cat Dragon, you may also wish to add 18 gauge floral wire to the rear legs to help with stability; this is entirely optional.
