The Double Star Quilt's large scale, eight pointed star motif blends modern and traditional aesthetics. It is a beginner friendly, fun and fast paced quilt.
The pattern includes two size options: Baby/Throw (54’’ x 54’’) and Queen (90’’ x 90’’). You can easily make the quilt to any other specific size by changing the amount of background border.
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
Baby/Throw: 4 fat quarters (mix of darks) and ten 1/3 yard cuts (mix of lights) Queen: 4 fat quarters (mix of darks) and nine 1 yard cuts (mix of lights) CHOOSING FABRIC The Double Star Quilt uses a mix of dark and light fabrics to create a patchworky, yet graphic quilt. It is a great project for experimenting with contrast. Our sample is made with a mix of dark fabrics for the star motif and a mix of light fabrics for the background. Switch it up and try a light star motif on a dark background, or experiment with color for your contrast. Try mint for your star on a rust-red background, or hot pinks on a mustard background to make it yours. Choosing hues with a contrast in value (dark vs light) will help your star pop!
