The Cuddly Carrier pattern makes a super cute carrier for children to baby wear their dolls, teddies and other cuddly toys. It can be worn on the front or back and animal variations include a cat, mouse, fox, badger, bear or monkey. Suitable for walking children from age 1 up to age 10 and beyond, the waistband comes in 3 sizes and is easily adjusted using hook and loop tape (e.g. Velcro). The main body comes in 2 sizes to carry different sized toys. The straps can be secured with snaps or D-rings making the fit adjustable for different aged children. Boys and girls love them!
Make one of the animal versions, showcase a favourite fabric or add appliqué or embroidery - Bishy Barnababes has lots of free-motion appliqué patterns and tutoorial. It's perfect as a quick birthday gift!
Use up your leftover fabric or treat yourself to more. In addition to fabric; hook and loop tape (e.g. Velcro) and D-rings or snaps are required.
The 35 page PDF file includes:
Pattern; fully scaled, computer generated pattern pieces using trim and no-trim methods of assembly. Both rectangle measurements and pattern pieces are provided so you can use the cutting method you prefer.
List of materials needed, including a chart showing the size of each piece of fabric required.
Metric and imperial measurements.
Printing instructions, including using layers to print just the sizes you want, a chart detailing which pages to print on letter or A4 paper.
Tutorial; detailed step-by-step instructions with clear diagrams, photographs and tips.
Rated as Beginner+ as it's easy to make. However, some of the pieces, like the eyes, are a bit fiddly to sew on the machine - you can easily hand sew them though or use buttons!

Bishy Barnababes
I am Vicki Hibbins, the designer and owner of Bishy Barnababes - creating cute PDF sewing patterns that mum's will love to sew and children will love to wear. I live in Norwich, UK (where a ladybird is called a bishy barnabee) with my husband, daughter, dog and cat.
A Primary teacher for over 20 years and sewing since I was 4 (my grandfather taught me using a Victorian sewing machine), I combine both these passions to make patterns with great instructions that are suitable for beginners upwards. I love sharing my skills and introducing sewers to new techniques - my favourite at the moment being free-motion appliqué. I also produce The Sewing Room podcast where I share the ins and outs of running a pattern company, latest Bishy Barnababes news and the latest creations from my sewing room.
