Make your own barefoot huaraches sandals!
Are you looking for some easy to make barefoot/minimal sandals for summer that do not require sewing? Did you buy some sandals but they just are not that comfy? Do you have two different sized feet or perhaps extra wide feet?
With this very detailed, 48pgs, instructional eBook for making your own barefoot / minimal huarache sandals, you can make your own sandals that fit specficially to your unique feet... all WITHOUT sewing! That´s right, bespoke, barefoot sandals that do not require a sewing machine! This eBook is designed so that it explains how to make huaraches for almost any sized foot (we do not recommend these for babies or very small children though).
Unlike our other barefoot and minimal shoe eBooks, the DIY Huaraches Sandals are a great beginner project that is relatively easy for the patient shoe DIYer.
But why do you need a pair of minimal/barefoot huarache sandals? Well, first off, they have a VERY flexible sole which allows you to feel the earth beneath your feet while still protecting them from sharp stones, asphalt burn and glass. Secondly, the straps or cord and how you bind the sandals to your foot are able to be 100% personalized. This means that you can choose a thinner or thicker cord or band, if you have a sensitive spot on your foot, you can choose a different lacing system or if you are going up or downhill, you can quickly adjust the band or cord to hold your foot in the most advantageous position for the terrain- no more blisters. Basically these sandals are infinitely adjustable.
Originally from Mexico, many barefoot shoe wearers are familiar with the now famous ultra runners of the Tarahumara that run in Huaraches (popularized by the book Born to Run by Christopher McDougall). Because these sandals are so adjustable and light, they are also perfect to put in your pack if you´re backpacking or camping!
DIY huaraches can be made to look elegant so you can wear them with fancy dresses, or they can be made to be functional, to be worn while hiking...you choose! With our eBook, you can make as many pairs as you want and we include instructions for various ways of tying them, different cords and alternative designs so that you have different options.
Depending on how good you are at DIY and making your own projects, these DIY bespoke huarches should take anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours to complete. These are really the PERFECT start to barefoot/minimal shoe-making.
